A few health room reminders:

• All medication that comes to school must be accompanied by a “Medication at School Form.”  This form can be found on the front page of the Magdalen website.
  • This includes cough drops, allergy medicine, and pain relievers.   

       If in doubt, please call and double-check!

• Students should not attend school if they are sick. Students must be fever-free without fever-reducing medication for 24 hours. Students must be free of vomiting and diarrhea for 24 hours.    
  •  Please follow these guidelines to help prevent the spread of illness.
  • Students who return to school before their 24 hours are up will be sent home. 

• Please send a water bottle with your student! These extremely hot days cause dehydration.

• Please update me if your student gets injured outside of school. I can help make accommodations for them in the classroom.

Hi Magdalen Mustangs!

As we are all back together, I've noticed a few trends in illnesses among students. School-wide, I'm seeing an increase in sore throats, congestion, runny noses, fevers, and headaches. Remember, practicing good hygiene, such as frequent handwashing, can help reduce the spread of both colds and strep throat, especially during peak illness seasons.

 As a reminder, please do not give your child fever-reducing medication before sending them to school. If your child requires medication, they should stay home and rest to minimize the risk of spreading the virus to other students.

Welcome to a new school year!

A few reminders from the health room:

*Please do not send medication to school with students.  This includes cough drops, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and allergy medication, etc.  All medication must have a doctors note on the approved "Medication at School" form and must be kept in the nurses office.

*Please notify me of all food allergies.  If you child requires a meal modification for a hot lunch please contact me for the appropriate form.

*Please update me on all chronic illnesses or injuries that may require accommodations. 

*Please do not send sick students to school. They will be sent back home.  Students must be fever free, vomit free, and diarrhea free for 24 hours without medication before attending school.  

* If you have a student that is sick at school we ask that you pick them up within 30 minutes of being notified. Please have a plan in place if you are out of town.
