Library & Tier
Welcome Back to School!
I hope everyone had a fun and relaxing summer! I'm excited to start a new - school year! I am very excited to be back in the library at MCS this year. I will be teaching in the library M-TH mornings and leading math enrichment classes in the afternoon. Here is what we'll begin the new year working on in the library.
Library - Students in preschool through 2nd grades will have a book read aloud to them each week. Books in August and September will focus on back to school and Fall themes. Kindergarten and first grade will hear a story about parts of a book and learn how to care for our library books. Students in 2nd through 5th grades will participate in fun activities such as scavenger hunts, Library Detectives, and makerspaces with fun STEM activities.
Check out the new display of “cooking” books in the non-fiction area of the library. Also, we have a new book on Father Kapaun, written by Scott Carter that was donated to our library on display. It will be available for checkout in a couple of weeks. Early childhood and primary students will get a taste of Pirate books as we celebrate Pirate month in September. Ahoy mates!
Math Enrichment:
I will be teaching math enrichment to 3-5 graders in the afternoon. We will begin the year with some fun math trivia and getting to know you activities. These groups do change some throughout the year, but I am beginning with the students who qualified from last spring’s assessments.
If you ever have any questions regarding your child's library or math enrichment class, please don't hesitate to email me!
