Reminders / Important Notes:
1. Keep checking the Mustang Weekly for all end-of-school details!
2. Kindergarten students are required to do 30 minutes of Stewardship. Please make sure to log your child's stewardship hours on page 28 of the agenda. These are due Wednesday, May 13th.
3. Please send a paper bag with handles to school by the end of the week!!! We will have lots to send home and our backpacks won't be big enough for everything.
4. Tuesday, May 19th will be our last day of school and field day. Hotdog lunch will be provided by the Knights of Columbus. If your child does not like hotdogs, please send a home lunch with them. There will be no other lunches served.
The only thing your child needs to bring to school on the last day is a hat and water bottle. No backpacks. We will send everything from the classroom home on Monday.
Please apply sunscreen BEFORE your send your child to school. We cannot apply sunscreen to every student.
5. If your child is recommended or required for summer school hours, a letter will be sent home directly from the school office. Next steps with instructions and a list of available tutors will be included. FastBridge scores from the latest Reading and Math assessments are also being sent directly from the school office.
6. Library books must be returned this week, or fees paid, otherwise you run the risk of your child not being able to participate in Field Day!

Reminders / Important Notes:
1. Our last field trip this year will be on Friday, May 8th. We will be going to the Great Plains Nature Center and to the Bel Aire Park for lunch and recess time. Permission slips will be sent home this week. Please look for them in your child's binder.
2. You may have noticed a pause in our weekly Reading Lists. We need to get caught up on some Phonics curriculum before we can proceed with new word lists. Please spend this time reviewing old reading lists. Thank you for your understanding with this!
3. We have a special guest presenter coming to visit the kindergarten classes this Friday, April 17th from The Kansas Corn STEM Educators! This is such a cool, hands-on learning experience for the students to learn about Kansas agriculture. Make sure to ask them about it after school on Friday!
4. Our next (and last) Fast Bridge testing dates are scheduled for Monday, April 20th (Reading) and Wednesday, April 22nd (Math). I respectfully request that you try not to schedule appointments on these dates so that we can get through every student on our designated testing dates.

Butterfly Lifecyle - We got our "class pet" in the mail today - caterpillars! We have started our Butterfly Lifecycle unit and for the next few weeks we will be making observations and reporting where our pets are at in their lifecycle.

1. Our Valentine party will be on Thursday, February 12th at 2:15. Each student will need to bring 26 Valentine cards for our class. No names on them, just signed with their name. All parents are invited and encouraged to help!
2. Blankets will go home for washing on Thursday.
3. Our big Kindergarten stewardship project is to collect at least 100 cans of food for Our Daily Bread Food Pantry. We ask that each student bring 2-4 cans of food to donate to the food pantry. Since this is our Stewardship project, instead of just giving your child the items to donate, it might be a good idea to have them do a job, etc. and "earn" the items. It is our hope that the students will feel a sense of accomplishment and pride when donating the items knowing that they have earned the items and are giving them to help others. We will deliver the items on March 11th for our Stewardship Field Trip (more info. to come).
