Magdalen / St Thomas 7th & 8th Grade Football Playing for the Mustangs provides our students to: REPRESENT THEIR PARISH AND SCHOOL IN THE CSAL WHILE BUILDING CHARACTER Sense of community while learning to be true student athletes and balancing commitments to God, Family, School, and Team BUILD FUTURE RELATIONSHIPS Our coaching staff works in tandem with those involved with coaching the Kapaun Football program as we try to teach them the skills and knowledge not only to be safe and have fun in the sport, but to also build on plays and terminology for when they choose to participate later on the Junior Varsity and Varsity levels. Our program approach allows for both 7 th & 8 th Graders to consistently work out together now laying a foundation for success when those bonds carry forward through high school on and off the field OPPORTUNITY TO TRY AND PLAY DIFFERENT POSITIONS BEFORE HIGH SCHOOL Even if your son has not participated in a tackle football league before it is still a great time to give the game a shot to see if it is something they may want to pursue later on before they reach high school. There are no barriers to playing for the Mustangs – no positions are assigned going in and financial barriers can be discussed to ensure everyone who wants to play can play. Football Pathway While Magdalen only offers the opportunity to play tackle football at the 7th & 8th Grade Level, we do want to let you know there is a planned pathway for your son to learn to play football at a gradual pace to acclimate to the sport. This path below provides guidance on what to expect from a coordinated program for your son to learn all aspects of playing football, being part of a team, learning the necessary skills to play the game successfully as well as safely, and all while working towards the goal of providing prepared student athletes who will one day play for the Kapaun Football Program.

We need your help if you have committed to working Concessions as part of your stewardship for concessions and for gate fees. Even if you have not signed up for this as stewardship if your child or grandchild participates in any of our middle school sports or cheer (or will someday) those kids benefit from the money we raise during these events. We are a great way for your high school students to lock down some hours they need to turn in as well! Thanks for your consideration. Click here to sign up
