A well-coordinated Catholic funeral honors the deceased’s life, provides comfort to the family, and ensures the liturgy is conducted with reverence and beauty. The Funeral Coordinator plays a central role in making this possible by;
- Serving as a liaison between the family, the priest/deacon, the funeral home, and the parish office.
- Helping select readings, music, and other elements of the service, and answer questions about the funeral rite.
- Working closely with the family to gather information, confirm details, and ensure all arrangements are in place.
- Providing guidance and comfort to the family, ensuring the service reflects the deceased’s life and faith.
-
Preparing for the Mass, arriving early (often 60 minutes before) to light candles and set up the altar for a solemn, beautiful liturgy.
