Welcome to second semester! The first semester flew by!  Here are a few things to look forward to this semester.

  • We have officially started division.  If your child is struggling with multiplication please continue to work on facts with them because this will be hugely helpful moving forward!
  • We will have our Act of Hope test on February 1st.
  • We have a DRA religion test, this will encompass the first three pages and is planned on February 20th.
  • Students will be starting a science research project.  This should be able to be completed at home, but please let me know if you have any questions regarding this assignment once it is handed out.

Here are our spelling lists for the month.

It's hard to believe that 4th quarter is already here! This month we start our state assessments, have a concert, and get ready for our final field trips of the year.  Please take note that Study Island assignments are only being assigned for math for the next few weeks.  In place of reading Study Islands we will be using a program called Read Works (readworks.org).  This is a new website that allows for more differentiation and meaningful reading for the kids.  My goal is to save the kids time while still reinforcing important skills.  Students should sign into their Google accounts (they do this often in school, so this should be easy for them) and then go to readworks.org and click "Sign in with Google Account". This will log them in and allow them to see assignments that I have made for them.  Please try this early in the week and let me know if this is not working for you.
