Welcome Back!

Wow, it is hard to believe that it is already 2012! I hope that all of you had a Merry Christmas and have had a great start to the new year. Here is what will be going on in the Lit classes:

6th grade-We have started a suspenseful novel called The House of Dies Drear, about a boy who moves into a house that was once a stop on the Underground Railroad.

7th grade-They are reading Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, which is about a girl named Cassie and her family's struggle to keep their land and deal with the prejudice of other people.

8th grade-As a wrap-up to Anne Frank, we are reading a factual article from our Lit books about what happened to the Franks after they were discovered in the Annex. This will lead us into a review of features of non-fiction writing.

All classes will resume vocab next week with the first full week of school.

Looking forward to a great spring semester!
