The Altar Society is an organization committed to the needs of the parish, to Christian fellowship, and to the spiritual and corporal works of mercy. Some activities include the annual Bazaar, funeral dinners, and wedding receptions.

Coffee and donuts are served every Sunday after the 8:00 and 9:30 Masses in the Gathering Space. This is an easy, tasty, and important service in our parish. Come join us to meet old friends and make new ones!

Meet new people! Re-acquaint yourself with old friends! Join Magdalen Dinner Club! Two sessions are held each year; one in the Fall and one in the Spring. Sign ups are required for each session. You are grouped into a "club" of between six and eight individuals and/or couples. Each of you takes a turn hosting dinner in your home, providing the main dish and the rest of the group providing the rest of the dinner! You have six months to meet four times. It is a great way to get to know other parishioners and share in Christ's fellowship.

The goal of this ministry is to help parishioners meet other parishioners and through the ministry become more connected to the parish.  Although there are no requirements of age, marital status, or even parental status, most of the participants are not too far removed from reorganizing their lives after children have "left the nest".  Our plan is to have a variety of social, service, and formation activities on a regular basis.

This ministry consists of single parishioners or parish families who desire and enjoy the opportunity to greet the congregation as they arrive for Mass. Efforts are made to schedule greeters for the Mass they normally attend. Children may participate in this ministry only when accompanied by their parents.  Due to the need to greet the congregation as they arrive to enter the Church, greeters are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the Mass.

This ministry consists of single parishioners or parish families in presenting the gifts to the priest at weekend and holy day Masses. Children may participate in this ministry only when accompanied by their parents.

Harvest House is a program for the “over 55” crowd. The group has something for everyone and meets once a month. Activities include travel, speakers, covered dish suppers, classes, days of recollection and more. Come join in the camaraderie...

The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic lay- men’s organization.  Its foundation is built on the pillars of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism.  Through its many programs the knights support the needy and sick, our Magdalen parish and its many activities, our Wichita diocese and the greater church.  Its membership is open to all men of the parish eighteen years and older.

The goal of this ministry is to provide educational, enrichment opportunities to strengthen marriages of all ages and stages at Magdalen. Three programs will be offered throughout the year: Couple Prayer Series, The Beatitudes: A Couples Path to Greater Joy, & Conflict Resolution. Each program will run 3-6 weeks, giving couples an opportunity to grow together in marital joy. We welcome couples interested in strengthening their marriage, with focus and dedication, in a Christian setting.

Childcare

The goal of this ministry is to provide free Childcare for all Marriage Toolbox Programs and Events. We are in need of adults and teens who would like to help strengthen marriages by volunteering for this important ministry. Volunteers can help weekly, monthly or annual as it fits their schedule. Adult volunteers must be VIRTUS trained. Minimum age 12.

Marriage Celebration Ministry

The goal of this ministry is to facilitate fun and fellowship among all married couples. 2-3 times per year, events will be planned to celebrate marriage as a Magdalen community.  We welcome all couples interested in planning  or attending these fun events.

This group provides stay-at-home moms a place to drop their kids off once a week allowing mom free time to do errands. This is a cooperative Mom’s Day Out made up of four teams of four moms. Each team works one Wednesday a month and then has the other three Wednesday off. This is a great way to meet other moms in the parish as well as give yourself some much needed time. The group meets 9-1:30pm. Ages are 6 months through the summer prior to entering 1^st grade.

Magdalen Moms get together from September to May three times a month. The first meeting is for socialization and play time for moms and kids. The second meeting is a fun night out just for the moms - Moms Night Out - Moms talk over dinner, movies, bowling, etc. The third meeting is a preschool-geared lesson covering the coming weekend's Gospel reading including songs, activities, coloring, and a craft. We also provide meals for one another when new babies join our families and make and sell Advent Wreaths in the fall. Come find us on Facebook!!

Members of this committee assist with the planning and facilitation of special social events for the parish, whether on-campus or off. Individuals will work under the direction of the leadership of the Pastoral Council, the Altar Society, the Knights of Columbus, the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), and the Pastoral Minister, depending on the special event. Examples of special social events would be the parish picnic, certain receptions, and other celebrations. This does not include wedding receptions. This ministry is generally open to men and women age 12 and older, with some events having possible older age restrictions.

Senior citizens are invited to come and eat a wonderful lunch served by our school children and enjoy fellowship and bingo. Gatherings are in the Parish Hall.  The group meets on the 2^nd and 4^th Tuesday of each month from September through May.

Ushers serve at all weekend and Holy Day Masses, and perform a number of duties before, during and after Mass, including welcoming and seating the congregation, taking up the collection, handing out the bulletin, and organizing the Church for the next mass. Men and women high school age or older are invited to participate in this ministry.  Minimum age 14.

This ministry is for those that would like to meet new families in the parish. The committee meets quarterly to plan events and members are encouraged to act with a welcoming hospitality daily. Once a month, volunteers facilitate registration for new parishioners after all masses.  Minimum age 18.

This group is comprised of young adult member of the parish who gather for fun, friendship, prayer and discussion.
