Dear Parishioners of the Church of the Magdalen,
Greetings of peace in our Lord, Jesus Christ! I take this occasion of the transition of pastors to write a few lines of fraternal and spiritual support.
The Parish Mission is a wonderful way for the Magdalen Family to come together. There are Faith Formation Groups meeting on different days at different times. There is hopefully a group to fit into everyone’s schedule. We know life is busy. Take time to embrace the Lenten season and explore the grace and healing offered in Confession.
Fr. Jirak will kick off the Parish Mission on Sunday, February 18 at 7:00pm in the church. Join our new pastor for an evening of prayer, Eucharistic adoration and a special homily. It will be a wonderful evening to welcome him into our Magdalen Family.

This Lenten season Church of the Magdalen will conduct a special mission on the theme of forgiveness. Using the FORGIVEN series on Formed.org, this special mission will entail weekly small faith group sessions each week of Lent. All faith formation groups participating in FORGIVEN will join together on Sunday, February 18th at 7:00pm in the church to kick off the mission with an evening of prayer, Eucharistic adoration, and a special homily. The mission will conclude with our parish penance service on Wednesday of Holy Week and participation during the special liturgies of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter. The faith formation groups will be forming and meeting on a variety of days and times to accommodate parishioners’ schedules. If you are interested in joining a group, please contact the parish office at 634-2315. We will keep your name on file and inform you of the faith formation group options once they are available so you can choose a day and time that work for you.
FORGIVEN: The Transforming Power of Confession, is the latest addition to the Augustine Institute’s library of sacramental preparation programs.
FORGIVEN explores the grace and healing offered in Confession and shows how this sacrament of mercy reveals the depth and bounty of God’s love. By looking at God’s revelation of his mercy in Scripture and making a step-by-step examination of the Rite itself, FORGIVEN communicates God’s invitation to each one of us to come experience his indescribable love in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
