Magdalen High School Confirmation Program

Church of the Magdalen Confirmation Program

"But you will receive power when the holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my
witnesses
in Jerusalem, throughout
Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” -Acts 1:8

Dear Parish Family,

Welcome to the Church of the Magdalen Confirmation program. We are excited to journey with your family and your teen towards the Sacrament of Confirmation. This is truly a special time of spiritual formation for those to be Confirmed; one that we hope will strengthen your entire family.

What exactly happens at the Sacrament of Confirmation?
"The sacrament of Confirmation impresses a character and by it the baptized, continuing on the path of Christian initiation, are enriched by the gift of the Holy Spirit and bound more perfectly to the Church; it strengthens them and obliges them more firmly to be witnesses to Christ by word and deed and to spread and defend the faith” –Canon 879

How do we sign up?
Confirmation Registration is CLOSED. Please plan on joining us next Fall, 2017.

Final Message to Parents
Parents, as you continue ministering to your family, your parish and the community, we ask you to be especially faithful in these areas: Attend Sunday Liturgy and Holy Days of Obligation, Support a parish ministry with the gift of your time and be true to the Biblical call to tithe. In addition to worshiping at the Church of the Magdalen, your family has the opportunity to give your time, talent and treasure to the many ministries this faith community has to offer. Opportunities to participate are not restricted to Youth Ministry or Confirmation, but include all parish ministries such as Adult Faith Formation, RCIA, Religious Education, to name a few. It is your example that will have the greatest impact on the faith of your child.

The Confirmation Ceremony for Church of the Magdalen is scheduled for Thursday, January 19th, 2017.  Please mark your calendars.

Confirmation Communication

We want to help you keep track of confirmation meetings and be able to quickly contact you if we need to postpone any classes due to weather. That is why we are asking all students and their parents that are involved with our Confirmation program to sign up for safe and confidential SMS text messaging through Remind.com. This program allows us to send information via text messaging to everyone at the same time in a quick manner. Your phone number will be kept confidential from everyone and you will not be entered into any group text messages. Please send the message @1msc to 81010 from your cell phone. If the number does not work try sending the same message to (316) 854-5999. We ask that both students and their parents complete this task as we want to provide transparent communication.
