Mysteries of light

The Sign of the Cross

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Our Father

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Fatima Prayer

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy.

Hail Holy Queen

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of mercy! Hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears! Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us; and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed Fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
Pray for us, Holy Mother of God.
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray: O God, whose only-begotten Son, by His Life, Death, and Resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech you, that we who meditate on these mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the blessed Virgin Mary, may both imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Other Prayers

Mary, Queen of the Knights

Our Lady, Queen of the Knights, bless all the activities of our Order. Keep us true to the pledge to extend the kingship of thy Divine Son on earth. Through Thine intercession, win for us the grace ever to exemplify in our public and privite lives, the virtues which should characterize those specially dedicated to the service of the heavenly court. Make us always aware that as your Knights we are constantly observed, our faith judged and our Order appreciated. Accept, O Mary, this renewed pledge of fealty and devotion of thy servants, the Knights of Columbus. Amen.
Rev. Robert F. Hopkins

Knights of Columbus Prayer

O Almighty and Eternal God, Lord of the Universe, sustain us, we beseech Thee, o'er the course of "life's tempestuous sea." Keep us, we pray Thee, secure within the Bark of Peter, ever trustful of Christ and his Vicars to guide us along the ways of peace and prosperity. May Jesus, Our Savior, preserve us in the unity of the Holy Faith and confirm our hopes of sharing its treasures with America. Send forth the power and love of the Holy Spirit, that we may be blessed in our efforts to set forth Thy glory in this land under the patronage of Mary's Immaculate Conception. Let our Fraternity flourish in justice and charity and give eternal praise and glory to the Most Holy Trinity. Be mindful of each of our brothers, departed, and receive them into the haven of eternal peace. Amen.

Morning Offering

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You all my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day, for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, throughout the world, in reparation for my sins, for the intentions of all our associates, and for the general intention recommended this month by our Holy Father, the Pope. Amen.

An Act of Faith

O my God, I firmly believe that You are one God in three Divine Persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that Your Divine Son became man and died for our sins, and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because You revealed them, Who can neither deceive nor be deceived. Amen.

An Act of Hope

O my God, relying on Your infinite goodness and promises, I hope to obtain pardon of my sins, the help of Your grace, and life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and redeemer. Amen.

An Act of Love

O my God, I love You above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because You are all-good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of You. I forgive all who have injured me, and I ask pardon of all whom I have injured. Amen.

An Act of Contrition

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins, because of Thy just punishments, but most of all because they offend You, my God, Who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of You grace, to confess my sins, to do penance, and to ammend my life. Amen.

The Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me, Amen.

The Angelus

     V. The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary,
     R. And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.
          Hail Mary....
     V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
     R. Be it done unto me according to Thy Word.
          Hail Mary....
     V. And the Word was made flesh.
     R. And dwelt among us.
          Hail Mary....
     V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
     R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ, Amen.

     Let us pray:

Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy Grace into our hearts, that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His passion and cross be brought to the glory of His Ressurection, through the same Christ, our Lord, Amen.

Angel of God

Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love entrusts me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

Prayer to Saint Joseph

Saint Joseph, you are the chaste and loving spouse of the Virgin Mary, the foster father of Jesus, the protector and provider of the Holy Family and all families. We have complete confidence in your loving care for new life and in your fidelity to the family. We commend our efforts to your prayers and protection. Help us always to defend the gift of human life that it may grow to the abundance of eternal life promised and bestowed on us by your son, our brother, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayer of Saint Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.  Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.
Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love.  For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.

Prayer For Vocations

Heavenly Father, bless your Church with an abundance of holy and zealous priests, deacons, brothers and sisters. Give those you have called to the married state and those you have chosen to live as single persons in the world, the special graces that their lives require. Form us all in the likeness of your Son so that in him, with him and through him we may love you more deeply and serve you more faithfully, always and everywhere. With Mary we ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer To Know One's Vocation

Lord Jesus, up until now you have been quietly preparing me to be your disciple. Now the time of preparation is ending. I seem to hear you say to me as once to Peter:
        Will you also go away?
You were saddened then by friends who failed you. But Peter did not fail. He said:
Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life!
I stand with Peter. Through prayer and counsel, show me, Lord, where it is in your vineyard that you want me to serve. Then give me strength to be faithful.
Mary, Mother and Model, help me to respond in generous love to the call of your divine Son.

Prayer for the Canonization of Father Michael J. McGivney

God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Father Michael J. McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify your servant Father Michael J. McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor I now present (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer of Bishop Thomas V. Daily, Supreme Chaplain

Lord our God, holy is your name! Incline our hearts to your commandments and give us the wisdom of the Cross, so that free from sin, which imprisons us in our own self-centeredness, we may be open (like Father McGivney) to the gift of the Holy Spirit, and so become worthy temples of your love.
Praise be Jesus Christ, yesterday today and forever!
