Church of The MagdalenBuilding Usage PoliciesUpdated: December 2008Scheduling for use of Parish Facilities:1. The Pastor has sole authority to approve, deny and revoke any use of church or school facility. 2. Facility usage application must be complete and on file in the Parish Office before facility will be reserved. 3. Funerals have precedence over any and all facility usages that have been previously scheduled. 4. Scheduling priorities will be assigned to Magdalen Parish sponsored groups/activities. 5. After School usage of any church/school facility must be supervised by an adult until all minors are picked-up. 6. Facilities are available from 8 am-11:30 pm. All usage must be arranged through the parish office. 7. All lights must be turned off and doors locked when leaving any church/school facility after use. 8. Parking allowed only in appropriately marked areas. For safety reasons NO CURBSIDE PARKING is allowed except in Adoration Chapel reserved area. No parking is allowed on sidewalks or building entrances at any time. 9. Procedure for picking up/returning keys: a. All keys will be picked up at the Parish Office between 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday. b. Return keys to the Parish Office promptly following usage. General Regulations for use of Church and School Facilities: 1. All facilities are smoke free. 2. The applicant will be held responsible for the preservation of order. 3. Facility used shall be left clean and in an orderly manner including removal of trash. 4. Property not belonging to the facility is not to be stored in the church/school buildings. 5. The Pastor or his representative(s) shall have access to all rooms at all times. 6. All children/students/minors are to be supervised by adults especially in foyers, restrooms, parking lots, etc. 7. Alcohol Policy: Open bars (including drink machines), kegs, and “BYOB” are not allowed. Table wine, packaged beer, and alcoholic punch are allowed. A professional security officer must be retained for every 150 people attending if alcohol is served. 8. The Cost of Stewardship! The church and school facilities were built by the parishioners of Magdalen for the Magdalen parishioners. We are a stewardship parish, i.e., we contribute significant Time, Talent, and Treasure to the Parish. Parishioners who actively participate in Stewardship can rent the facilities for a nominal charge and a reimbursable security fee. Specific Regulations and Rentals: The Church: 1. Church organ and piano may not be used for personal purposes or gain. 2. Weddings can be no later than 2pm on Saturdays;. 3. Rental Fees: Non-parish Event: Reimbursable Security Deposit: $500.00 Rental: $500.00 per day; $250.00 per half day or evening [4-5 hours];
Msgr. Schmidt Parish Hall and Kitchen: 1. Parish Hall and Parish Kitchen: Parishioner Fees: Fee: Base charge of $ 100.00 plus $20.00 per hour of use (Base includes 2 hrs. of set up time) Professional Security Officer must be retained for every 150 people in attendance if alcohol is served. Non-Parish Use: Reimbursable Security Deposit: $500.00 Fee: $400.00 per day Professional Security Officer must be retained for every 150 people in attendance if alcohol is served. General Regulations of Athletic Facilities: 1. The gymnasium or field(s) must be reserved through the Athletic Director. 2. Policies of the Diocesan Parochial League are endorsed. 3. Non-parish practice or league practice is not allowed on Sunday or during school vacations. 4. Informal practice during school vacations can be scheduled after consultation with the parish office and Athletic Director and facility usage form on file. 5. Applicant’s equipment use in the gym will be limited to basketball goals, volleyball nets. All balls, birdies, rackets, etc., must be supplied by the applicant. 6. The Athletic Director or Parish Representative will instruct all applicants in the setting up and use of gymnasium or field equipment on an appointment basis. 7. Any damage incurred during use by the applicant will be paid by the applicant, regardless of the cost of repairs. 8. No hanging on rims, nets, supports, or goal posts, etc. 9. Facilities and fields will be left in same condition as found. 10. All children are to be under adult supervision at all times, especially in foyers, restrooms, parking lots, etc.
Specific Regulations of Athletic Facilities:
Gymnasium: 1. Only water and “dry” foods allowed in the gymnasium unless arrangements are made, e.g., tarp laid upon gym floor for a dance or dinner. 2. Only athletic shoes are to be worn in the gym. 3. No Baseball playing allowed in gymnasium; only pitching and catching baseball practice will be allowed. No other baseball equipment may be used, e.g., portable pitching mound. 4. No jumping on or off bleachers. 5. Fees: a. Parish Use: The Cost of Stewardship; b. Non Parish Use: $30.00 per hour; Cafeteria: 1. No athletic games, e.g., baseball, basketball, football, soccer, etc., are to be played or practiced in the Cafeteria; 2. Fees: Parishioner Fees: Fee: The Cost of Stewardship (Those not participating in stewardship the cost will be as non-parish user) Non-Parish Use: Reimbursable Security Deposit: $300.00 Fee: $250.00 per day; $150.00 per half day or evening [4-5 hrs];
Athletic Fields: 1. Fields use are subject to field conditions. Contact Athletic director or Parish Office for usable condition. 2. Fields are to be kept free of trash. 3. Fees: a. Football Field: i.
