A Liturgical Music Workshop for Catholic musicians will be Sat, Jan 31 at Magdalen. The time will be 8:30 -1:30pm. Admission  is free, but monetary donations for refreshments are welcome.  Fr. John Lanzrath will speak on the formation of the Catholic liturgical musician. Jim Jones will review current legislation on church music. Breakout sessions include: prelude and postlude repertoire and reharmonizations for keyboard players, techniques and patterns for the liturgical guitarist, the place of silence in the liturgy and how to do liturgical planning for liturgy planners and choir directors, and a presentation for cantors.  Anyone who participates in the music ministry of their parish or institution can benefit and enjoy this workshop.
